Her Shoes

This series is an ongoing document of my daughter’s shoes. In an attempt to save these relics of her childhood, I began photographing the shoes as an entirely sentimental undertaking. Each shoe with its acquired scrapes, soil, rips, and stains reveals a part of my daughter’s story. Beyond my personal attachment, the images are evocative of a more universal tale about growing up and the pervasiveness of change in our lives.
